Terms and conditions for using Australian Identity Solutions.

By accessing or using the Australian Identity Solutions ("AIS") platform, website, API, or any related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
AIS provides identity verification services including document verification via the Australian Government's Document Verification Service (DVS), biometric face matching, liveness detection, AML/sanctions screening, and related compliance tools. The Service is provided on an "as is" basis.
You must register an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.
Pricing is as displayed on our website at the time of purchase. All prices are in Australian dollars (AUD) and include GST. You are only charged for successful verifications. Credits purchased on the Pay As You Go plan never expire. The Business Plan is billed monthly and can be cancelled at any time.
New accounts receive $10 in free credit. Free credit is subject to fair use and is intended for legitimate business use. AIS reserves the right to revoke free credit that is obtained fraudulently or used in violation of these terms.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws, including the Privacy Act 1988, AML/CTF Act 2006, and any applicable industry regulations. You must not use the Service to discriminate against individuals, for mass surveillance, or for any purpose that violates the privacy or rights of individuals.
You acknowledge that you are responsible for obtaining appropriate consent from individuals before submitting their personal information for identity verification. You must handle verification results in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 and applicable industry regulations.
We aim to provide 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or due to circumstances beyond our control, including government database outages.
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, AIS shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to AIS in the 12 months preceding the claim.
All intellectual property rights in the Service, including software, documentation, branding, and content, are owned by or licensed to AIS. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive licence to use the Service in accordance with these terms.
Either party may terminate these terms at any time. You may close your account through your dashboard or by contacting us. AIS may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these terms. Upon termination, your access to the Service will cease, but data retention obligations under law will continue to apply.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
