Last updated: 1 March 2026
Australian Identity Solutions Pty Ltd ("AIS", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information we collect and handle. This Privacy Policy sets out how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
We collect the following types of personal information:
We collect personal information directly from individuals during the identity verification process, from our business customers who submit verification requests, and from government databases (DVS) during document verification checks.
We collect and use personal information for the following purposes:
All Australian personal information is processed and stored in Australian data centres. We use industry-standard security measures including TLS 1.3 encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, role-based access controls, and multi-factor authentication. Our infrastructure is ISO 27001, ISO 27017 and ISO 27018 certified.
We do not store copies of identity documents. When a document is submitted for verification, it is scanned, verified against the relevant government database, and the image is immediately deleted. Only the verification result and extracted data points are retained.
Verification records and audit trails are stored for 7 years to meet AUSTRAC record-keeping requirements under the AML/CTF Act 2006. After 7 years, records are automatically and securely deleted.
We may disclose personal information to: the business customer who requested the verification; government agencies as required by law (including AUSTRAC); our technology partners who assist in providing our services (under strict contractual obligations). We do not sell personal information to third parties.
We do not transfer Australian personal information overseas unless required to verify international identity documents, and then only with appropriate safeguards in place as required by APP 8.
You have the right to request access to personal information we hold about you and to request correction of any inaccurate information. Contact us at hello@australianidentitysolutions.com.au to make a request.
We have documented security incident response procedures compliant with the Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) scheme under the Privacy Act 1988. In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) within 72 hours.
If you have a complaint about how we handle your personal information, please contact us at hello@australianidentitysolutions.com.au. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.
